Boiler description
The new series of Slokov SL-EKO wood-fired boilers meets emission class 5 and EKODESIGN. SL-EKO boilers can be operated without power supply and on gravity systems. The SL-EKO boilers have a new patented combustion chamber system which guarantees ecological combustion with high efficiency.
The boilers are manufactured with a standard inlet and outlet flange of the “Slokov” type (4x M12 bolt). This design allows easy replacement of an older SLOKOV boiler with a new one. However, the counter flanges are now manufactured with a G2″ outlet (internal thread) for easier retrofitting.
The inlet and outlet flange on the new boiler has the same shape and position as the SL27, SL27-3, SL33 and SL33-3 (SLOKOV coal-fired boilers). The boilers are easily interchangeable with older types of Slokov boilers and also with Dakon boilers with the help of a conversion kit. In case of replacement with SL40 and SL18D boiler, it is necessary to purchase an appropriate adapter.
It is only necessary to take into account the larger width of the boiler and the larger hopper shaft (the boiler needs more space to the side and front).
- The boiler meets class 5 according to EN 303-5 and EKODESIGN according to 2015/1189.
- High combustion efficiency, low fuel consumption.
- Interchangeable with older types of Slokov boilers and Dakon boilers.
- Ecological combustion.
- Easy operation and long boiler life.
Boiler design
The boiler consists of welded steel plates. The internal space is divided by a water baffle into a hopper, a combustion chamber and an exchanger through which the flue gases flow to the flue. Below the combustion chamber and the hopper is a two-part grate, operated from the side of the boiler by a lever.
The regulation of the secondary air supplied to the combustion chamber increases the efficiency of the boiler. Primary air is supplied under the grate by a controllable damper in the ash door. Regulation is carried out manually or by an automatic output regulator (HOR), which is supplied as an accessory together with the boiler. The heating water inlet and outlet are fitted with G2″ flanges as standard, but the boiler can also be ordered with G 1 1/2″ or DN 65 flanges. The flue pipe is in the axis of the boiler at the rear.
Boiler use, fuel
The Slokov SL-EKO steel hot water boiler is a heat source suitable for heating apartments, houses, business premises and similar buildings with a heat loss of around 36 kW. The heating system can be with an open or pressurized expansion vessel, with gravity or forced circulation of heating water, with a maximum overpressure of 200 kPa.
The Slokov SL-EKO boiler is designed to burn dry wood with a maximum moisture content of 20%, i.e. logs up to 100 mm diameter and 250 mm long, or split wood with or without bark. The manufacturer recommends that the fuel be placed in the feed chute lengthwise to allow for smooth burning and passage of the fuel. When using awkwardly shaped wood, increased operator supervision is required.
In addition to expert installation, good operation is also dependent on the requisite chimney draft and correct operation.
